To better understand Global Brigades goals and initiatives, let’s take a closer look at sustainable development. Use the resources below to learn more about our organization in relation to sustainable development, such as the evolution of the concept, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and country challenges. Use this facilitator’s guide to generate discussion within your Chapter, especially before you go on brigade. Check out the video below for an introduction on the topic:
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization that plays a major role in project direction, funding, and research. Use this section to develop awareness about the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. Global Brigades aligns its programming with three of the SDGs; #3 Good Health and Well-Being, #6 Clean Water & Sanitation, and #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Country Challenges
It is important to understand the history of a nation in order to understand how it came to be. The development of a nation is significantly affected by its historical events. This could range from physical factors such as natural disasters to political factors such as war, corruption, and colonialism to social factors such as discrimination. This section is dedicated to exploring the history of development and current challenges of the countries that we, Global Brigades, work with today. Please follow the podcast series below to hear from our Global Brigades Team members and their perspectives.
